 Si vous désirez vous détendre un peu, je vous conseille de lire Le bâton d’Euclide de JP Luminet (astrophysicien) chez JC Lattes.

Vous y vivrez quelques heures à Alexandrie dans un roman agréable.

On y lit notamment que le prénom Hypathie vient d’"hypate" premier degré de l’échelle des sons (gamme à 7 tons) correspondant à la note fondamentale ou tonique pour les musiciens actuels.

 Dans le livre Sundials their constrction and use de R.N.Mayall et M.W.Mayall (Dover) on peut lire :
« About 100 years after the appearance of Euclid’s work, Apollonius of Perga made public his treatise on the theory of conic sections, which laid the foundation for the geometry of position. The advent of this new study soon brought about a change in sundials, resulting in the conical dial. »
