Erlebnisland Mathematik Dresden : 100 expériences pour découvrir les mathématiques

Le professeur Jean-Paul Doignon s’est récemment rendu à Dresde. Il a visité l’Erlebnisland Mathematik Dresden en compagnie du Prof. Bernhard Ganter directeur scientifique de l’Erlebnisland Mathematik Dresden.

Il y a quelques années, un homme d’affaires de Dresde avait proposé au professeur Beutelspacher, à l’origine du Mathematikum de Giessen, de refaire un Mathematikum à Dresde. Beutelspacher a recommandé Bernhard Ganter qui s’est attelé au projet.

« Math Adventure Land Dresden

In Dresden’s Math Adventure Land visitors of all ages are invited to encounter mathematics in a playful way. On an area of more than 1000 square meters there are over 100 experiments waiting for you to participate, think and wonder about. A separate part of the exhibition designed especially for preschoolers. »

Quelques expériences :
 Shadows of Solids : « Hold one of the solids in the light. Try to hold it in such a way that its shadow matches one of the triangles, squares, or hexagons on the wall. Is this always possible ? »
 Penrose’s Puzzle
 Funnel Mirrors : « Looking at the mirror, you will see a silver pentagon on each side of the hole. Do you recognize the object ? If you put your head through the hole, others may observe how often you are reflected. »
 Seriation : « Seriation is a method in Archaeology to order tables with only few cells filled. It is used for relative dating of objects found in different spots to bring them in a temporal order. »
