Jean Tirole, Université de Toulouse, a obtenu le prix Nobel d’économie 2014

Ancien élève de l’École polytechnique (promotion X 1973), Jean Tirole est ingénieur général des Ponts et Chaussées. Il est titulaire d’un doctorat de 3e cycle en mathématiques de la décision à l’université Paris-Dauphine (1978).
C’est un spécialiste de la théorie des jeux. Il a été fait Doctor Honoris Causa de l’ULB en 1989.
